All winter, Tulip has cast longing glances at the ruffed grouse watercolour hanging on the stairs to our loft. It reminds her of her frenemies Thelma and Louise, who are wild turkeys, but of the same Phasianidae family. Turkeys, in Tulip’s experience, are not nearly as nice as grouse. In fact, they’re annoying as hell. Still, she had a love-hate relationship with Thelma and Louise until they mysteriously vanished around last American Thanksgiving. So, she was relieved to hear they may have joined up with a gang of wild turkeys the other side of Kagawong village. Tulip hopes T&L visit the cabin real soon. It will give her something to grouse about. #manitoulinisland #vikingcat
