Tulip has spent weeks in the Big Smoke, helping me with my Christmas Fund for Variety Village and luxuriating in the holiday season. Our intrepid Norwegian forest cat has always had a special relationship with the Christmas tree. For instance, she was a prime suspect in its toppling. There was no eyewitness — we were in another room when it crashed to the floor — but when we rushed out, Tulip was nonchalantly strolling away from the crime scene.
Anyway, all good things end. The eggnog is gone, the catnip bird that was in Tulip’s stocking has lost its punch — and the Christmas tree is bagged and out the door.
Soon, Tulip is back up north to the cabin and the continuing adventures of a Viking cat marooned on Manitoulin Island.

P.S.

Congrats to Barbara Rayment for “That cat’s a basket case!” the winning entry in the Spot Tulip contest. Barb wins a signed copy of VIKING CAT: Chronicles of Tulip…as soon as it is written. Tulip says to thank everyone who entered.
