Tulip, the fiercest Norwegian forest cat in Kagawong, who is on temporary leave in Toronto, took offence at my suggestion she was going soft in the big city. This followed a photograph that appeared to show Tulip tucked into a luxurious duvet and comfy pillows, a far cry from the straw bedding of her Viking ancestors. This follow-up photo was sent to set the record straight. It clearly shows an apex — and decidedly un-soft — predator lying in ambush, ready to pounce on any unwary antelope, lemming or zebra that wanders through the bedroom.
