The island is a botanist’s dream, a’bloom with some flora found only here — and several species of flesh-eaters, including the northern pitcher plant, sundews and bladderworts. The plant pictured with this post is none of these. In fact, no plant on Earth is known to consume Norwegian forest cats. But one of Tulip’s many quirks is a fixation with ferns. She stares at them, squats on them or uses them as camouflage. Perhaps her Viking ancestors once hid in ferns to ambush passing reindeer or lemmings. Brave cat, Tulip, but a bit weird.
