The plains of Africa are a long way from the fjords of Norway, or from Kagawong for that matter. But a cat is a cat — be it majestic lion, snowy lynx or Tulip, a Norwegian forest cat marooned on Manitoulin Island.
For cats, there is really no difference between hunting a gazelle, a reindeer or…..a chipmunk. It’s just a matter of scale. I mean, look at that intensity in Tulip’s eyes. I could practically hear hyenas baying in the background.
Today’s drama, shown in this still from a possible National Geographic special, ended well for the prey. Lucky for him, Norwegian forest cats are not built for speed.
